Thornapple Recycling
Recycle clean bottles, cans, cups, tubs, paper, and cardboard. Keep food and liquid out of your recycling (for example: greasy pizza boxes should NOT be recycled). Look for the chasing arrows recycling symbol. Keep recyclables loose and not bagged. More Info
Building Permits
All new structures and alterations to existing structures require a building permit, regardless of size or utilities. A building permit application and fee of $50 must be submitted to the Town of Thornapple. Rusk County requires a separate land use permit and fee.
New Address
A new address requires an application to be submitted to the county with a fee of $50. The Town of Thornapple charges $75 for a new fire number sign.
If a new building will also need a new driveway or address, a single fee of $75 must be submitted to the Town with the building permit application, in addition to the county’s forms & fees.
Dog Licenses
Dogs over 5 months of age must be licensed. Current proof of rabies vaccination is required to obtain a dog license.
