Whereas, the roads in the Township of Thornapple are in dire need of maintenance and repair,

And whereas, the annual budget cannot keep up with the amount of maintenance and repair that needs to be done,

And whereas, we need to protect the integrity of the roads to ensure no further decline is accumulated,

And whereas, the members at the Annual Meeting voted 10-2 to consider at the next regular meeting to discuss taking a small interest loan to complete the following: maintenance and repair of road projects in the township. Discussion at the 05-09-2017 meeting regarding low interest loan options and again at the Special Meeting of 06-06-2017 to pursue a low interest loan.

Be it resolved by the Town Board of the Town of Thornapple, adopted by a two-thirds majority of the town board, that:

The board will pursue a line of credit loan from Park Falls Bank not to exceed $500,000 with a quarterly interest payment and an end of year principal payment as available, for road maintenance purposes.
